Let's Talk About - Curtis Bonk: The World is Open Flat Classroom Keynote 2009-3

In this forum, please take the time to view and share your thoughts on Dr. Bonk's keynote video.

AS you view the video, what is the most important key trend that Dr. Bonk discusses? How does he agree or disagree with Thomas Friedman's Flatteners?

What questions do you have for Dr. Bonk?

See the keynote page on the wiki to view the videos and up to date information - some students may discuss there if they do not have access to the Ning, so feel free to communicate there as well.

I think the most important key trend is teaching online. I think he agrees with Thomas Friedman's book The World is Flat. Mr. Bonk talks about being more open online and Mr. Friedman talks about how everyone is beginning to become more open online.

He explains how things are being taught online.
Mr. Bonk does agree with the flatteners that Tomas Friedman has discussed.
I would like to ask him if he believes that globalization is occurring and is it effective.

I really had fun while watching this, because he was very creative, loud, and upbeat which makes you very interested in the video. He agrees, with Thomas Friedman, they because they are both talking about how to make the world flatter and open.

I think the video is very creative, and did a great job. I think that the most important key trend that he discusses is that the Thomas Freedman quote, "the world is flat", is false. Bonk says that the world is open because of new technologies. I would want to ask Mr. Bonk more on our flatclassroom project and what his in depth views of it are.

Dr. Bonk video explains what is being done online and somethings how they are being used.
He agrees with Thomas Freedman ten flatteners.
Do you believe that people of our age and generation are helping globalization?

This is an interesting video. I think it is cool how Dr. Bonk teaches us about these things with the papers.
The most important thing he talks about is the new things being taught being done online.
He does agree with Thomas Friedman because both of them talk about how the world is changing with the Internet.
I would ask Dr. Bonk how he thinks people my age are being affected by globalization.

The video was a very interesting video and he is wise in what he does. But I think I like Thomas Friedmans idea better. He just explains it a lot more thoroughly. But Dr.Bonk does agree with some flatterners. I wonder if he thinks the world is being flattened as fast.

Dr.Bonk is funny and smart he also agrees with what thomas friedman and so do I. They explain how the world is becoming flat. Dr. Bonk also tells about the teachers and people who are helping flatten the world.

I think that this was a very interesting video. Dr. Bonk was really into his video which I thought made it so much more interesting. He talks about the world being open online while Mr. Friedman talks about the flattening of the world and how it is affecting the way we use technology.

The video was very creative and productive. The most important key trend is the many different aspects that are taught online. In my opinion, Dr. Bonk completely agrees with the content of Thomas Friedman's book The World is Flat. Thomas Friedman discusses how the world is becoming flat and how we use technology today. While Dr. Bonk talks about the world being flat and open. These two discussions are similar in many different ways. I would like to ask Dr. Bonk more about our flatclassroom project and his overall opinion about it.

In this video, Dr. Bonk discusses his ideas on how the world is changing through technology. The most important key trend about Dr. Bonk's video is the idea of the world becoming open. This disagrees with Thomas Friedman's idea of the world becoming flat. He shares some similarities with Mr. Friedman by addressing that their are ten openers of the world, similar to the ten flatteners in Mr. Friedman's book. Dr. Bonk talks about many people who have shaped the technological world, and how they have done it. I would like to ask Mr. Bonk about how he classified the people he chose. What certain criteria did he go by in selecting the individuals that he chose?

Dr. Bonk says that the world isn't , in fact, flat , as Thomas Friedman believes, but is open. People can teach, or learn whenever they want for free. This is instant gratification, which is an intergral part of the people of today's mindset.
