True. Why Drink? That's a good question...

Why do people start?

Hundreds of Teens die every day from drunk driving.

people start drinking because it is fun and adults do it. and if hundreds of teens die EVERY DAY from drunk driving that is at least 356,000 dead teenagers a year. sounds a bit ridiculous.

Wow really....hmm some people are so insensetive. I was exaggerating a bit on the hundreds but alot of people die, including teens every time some one person decides to get stupid and drive drunk. And I don't care adults do it or if it's "fun" I don't think It should happen.

so your saying EVERY TIME someone drives drunk it is the cause of a death?

Reply to This

I'm not saying every single time but most of the time somebody gets hurt or dies. My Uncle was hit by a drunk driver and put in a coma for a year and a half and he almost died.

This is besides the point because this topic is teen drinking not teen drinking an driving. I have a question for all of you though, If it was not "against the law" for teenagers to drink would you still hold the same position and why?

Reply to This

Actually its not against the law, teens drinking is perfectly legal, buying alcohol is what is illegal til 21

I personally believe that it is the person's fault for driving if someone is killed, the question is do you think teens should drink, not relating to driving at all. I would say yes, let them drink it is there decision = and they will face whatever consequences happen, good or bad.

Yes I would still hold my position because my grandpa had to have a liver replacement which costed my family nearly $25,000

this is also besides the point because your grandpa is not a teenager... i know that in places like switzerland there is a low drinking age and kids will enjoy a glass of wine with dinner when they are out with there parents. do you think that is wrong?

Just realize that the very existence of this topic on the Ning would be found offensive to some people from Middle Eastern countries where such subjects are taboo. I think you are having good conversations here, just not sure if this is the place for it. Thinking out loud here as I'm really asking myself this question as well in terms of topics for discussions. WE don't censor things and let you all discuss just about anything but still wondering if the negatives may outweigh the positives if it discourages people from participating in Flat Classroom projects which focus on technology because of off-topic conversations. What do you think?

True, sorry for extending upon the topic. I just feel strongly about drinking period.
