Flat Classroom Project

Building bridges for the future through collaborative projects

I am rather curious about the types of cameras/ and software that you all use to grab your video clips and then to manipulate them.
We are using flip cameras at our school and so far the quality has been good and they are so easy to use. However, one of the girls in my class was downloading video from her mobile phone (cell phone) today. The videos were upside down when they were replayed, but she soon worked out how to rotate them. How many of you other students have used mobile phones to get your clips? Are mobile phones allowed to be used in your schools?
The software we use is Vegas Movie Studio or some will use MovieMaker as we are a PC school? What variety of software do you all use?

We are using a variety of devices and software here in Qatar. Mobile phones, smaller digital cameras as well as purpose-built video cameras....what ever we can get out hands on basically! We are also trying to promote the use of screen-casting and still image use as equally worthwhile in creating the final multimedia product. It is not essential that video footage be taken all the time.
As for software: iMove, Win Movie Maker, CamStudio (for screen-casting). We are a dual platform campus so have Mac and PC access. Students decide what they want to use. I would like to explore the use of Flip cameras but they are not easily purchased here yet.
