Hello everyone! I am excited to be a part of the Flat Classroom Project! I hope to give my 15 students a totally different learning experience that they will remember and enjoy!

I created a diigo account for my classes also:

Are you using the tagging standards on the wiki to tag bookmarks?
Hi everyone!
Hope you are having a great Spring break if already on holiday.
My students have started making contacts with yours. They are all very excited and ready to immerse themselves in this. We break up for Easter next Friday, 15th of April so I'll make sure they are active during their holiday to keep up with the work.
Greetings from sunny Hong Kong,
Sergio
It looks great, David! My students will do their handshake video next week with me. Our Diigo account for the project is as follows,
http://groups.diigo.com/group/flat-classroom_sis
It has been created for them to centralise all the information and avoid confusion, They have already joined the Ning and are ready to start working on their group projects.
I'll catch up with you later in the meeting,
Sergio
Comment by David Truss on March 31, 2011 at 5:26pm Hi folks,
Having a relatively good bandwidth day here in Dalian!
I've uploaded a short class handshake & would like to show our students some of the other handshakes, but is there a way to identify which ones are FCP11-1 and FCP11-2?
I tagged ours FCP11-2 and I'm wondering if we couldn't make sure and do that for all resources (photos/videos/anything uploaded our outside of this group) on the Ning. It's a challenge to get anything loaded here and so loading a wrong 4 min. video could result in 20min. to an hour of fruitless waiting.
On any video, you can go to 'Options' - a button on the top right of the video - and choose to 'Edit Your Tags' as one of the options given.
Thanks,
Dave.
Comment by David Truss on March 25, 2011 at 1:11am Will do Julie, I'll head to the Google Group after writing this.
Maureen, diigo is more social, you can join groups and even run diigo classrooms where the teacher sets it up and all the students are automatically connected and sharing bookmarks. A great tool.
I started with delicious and the extension on firefox makes finding my bookmarks much easier than finding them on diigo.
So I diigo to socialize and collect bookmarks from others: I get daily or weekly update emails from my different groups such as this one: http://groups.diigo.com/group/educators
And I use delicious to find my own bookmarks.

Comment by David Truss on March 25, 2011 at 12:29am I've started to bookmark the links for this project in one place: http://www.delicious.com/dtruss/fcp11
If others use delicious, we can use http://www.delicious.com/tag/fcp11 to track all of our links if we agree on fcp11 as a tag. So far only my 6 links are there.
I use diigo and have my bookmarks automatically go to delicious which isn't blocked in China!
Hope this is helpful.
