Hell Everyone!  I wanted to introduce myself.  I am one of the FCP 12-1 project managers.  I am a social studies and English teacher in Ohio, USA.  I began my experience with the Flat Classroom last year as I participated in several projects and later became a Flat Classroom Certified Teacher.  What a wonderful journey this has been.  Collaborating globally is such a powerful experience for students and teachers alike.  Such projects provide an authentic 21st century experience - preparing…

Thomas Friedman Presentation

Hello Everyone!  I am enjoying the handshake videos.  Nice work!  We watched Friedman's MIT presentation today in class.  My students had a great discussion afterwards.  They will be posting some comments on the blog soon.  I wanted to add that the point that resonated with me the most was - "Everything that can be done, will be done".  Students need to consider - Is it going to be done "by you or to you"? I would love to hear from students throughout the world… Continue

I believe that my role growing up in the 21st century is to understand how the internet can be used and what it can do. I have to be aware of the things out there that can happen to me out on the web.  My reaction to Friedman's presentation was; "Finally, here is a guy who knows what he is talking about and can lead many people onto his great ideas for the 21st century."
