Your Role in Flat Classroom
teacher
About Me:
I work with middle school students at a private, International Baccalaureate school called St. Alcuin in Dallas, Texas. I currently teach technology classes in the middle school program and one of the core concepts is for our students to become global citizens, learning tolerance, accepting and exploring new ideas with the tools made available to them. Most of my students have come from a Montessori background which promotes self discovery and independence, so the concept of a "Flat Classroom" is a natural fit for our students. Also the IB program focuses on encouraging students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, becoming critical and reflective thinkers.
I tell people all the time that this is the best job I have ever had. I love working with kids, using technology and cooking and I get to do all three of these things at St. Alcuin. It is the best school ever!!!
