About Me:
Hi! My name is Molly. I am fourteen years old. Actually, I am almost fifteen years old because my birthday is on October 14th. I live in Hopkinton, Massachusetts (in the United States) with my mom, dad, and my twelve year old brother Connor. I lived in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts until I was four, but then we moved to Hopkinton where I have been living for the past ten years. I love Hopkinton. It is a small town, but it is definitely not a boring one. I do not have any pets, but I would love to have a dog someday. I do not have a best friend, but I have a few really close friends.
I love school, high school especially. Even though I am just a freshman (at Hopkinton High School), I can tell that I am going to love high school already. I would say that I am a good student. I try really hard and getting good grades is really important to me. In terms of extracurricular activities, I play on my school’s freshman volleyball team. This is my first year playing volleyball but I love it! In addition to volleyball, I also swim on swim teams. I am also in our school band as an alto saxophone player. I have been playing the saxophone for four years and I love it. In my free time I enjoy reading, biking, spending time with my friends, and doing community service work. When I grow up, I hope to become either an elementary school teacher or a nurse.
Every summer, our family goes to Kennebunkport, Maine. It is a cute little town right near the ocean. Our family also enjoys going to DisneyWorld in Florida.

Keynote Video Response

Posted on October 14, 2009 at 10:14am 0 Comments

I actually thought that the keynote video was well done. It was a good way to kick off the Flat Classroom Project because it emphasized the fact that the world has become open through web technology so that anyone can learn for free and that anyone can be a teacher. In the video, Bonk briefly described the ten "openers" (books, online learning, free learning, open education resources, portals, participatory learning, resources from teachers, virtual worlds, mobile learning, and personal… Continue

Daniel Pink's Speech-Reflection

Posted on October 8, 2009 at 9:52am 0 Comments

I thought that Daniel Pink's speech was very well-done due to the great combination of knowledge, analysis, and humor that it contained. Not only was Mr. Pink's speech captivating, but it was very informative and the message of it could easily be received. His speech enhanced my understanding about what the Flat Classroom Project is actually about.

There were many elements of Mr. Pink's speech that made it interesting. First of all, Mr. Pink seemed to be very knowledgable about what he was… Continue

Reflection of Thomas Friedman's Speech

Posted on October 1, 2009 at 6:02am 0 Comments

I found Mr. Friedman's speech explaining the ideas in his book The World is Flat to be very interesting. First of all, he was a great speaker, full of energy and animation. He kept the listeners entertained with examples and humor. The main reason his speech was so interesting was because he did a great job supporting and explaining his ideas. Before we watched the speech, I had no idea what was meant by "the world is flat". As Mr. Friedman explained his ideas about the "flatteners", it… Continue
