Great video with high technical quality! Especially liked that you showed the educational value of uploading versus simply the social networking aspect for fun. Excellent that you mention copyright infringement, as well.

Very innovative idea, Hassan, "FaceTwitterSpace." I am actually waiting for that to come along, myself!

Brendan, Nicely written script. I especially liked your reference to the negativity surrounding social networks in education - no doubt it is a concern, but it is better to model the appropriate way to use it for learning purposes, while being so...

Hi Juan, Nice way to show Google, itself, as a social entrepreneur of sorts regarding energy conservation and recyling issues given its eco-friendly way of researching and retrieving information. Suzie Nestico

About Me:
Hello! I teach 9th and 12th grade Social Studies (primarily Civics and Government). Mount Carmel Area just completed cohort 2 of the Classrooms For the Future (CFF) program and I am one of our CFF teachers. Likewise, I serve on our school's Data Analysis Team and was named a Keystones Technology Integrator for 2009 in Pennsylvania.

Outside of the classroom, I coach Football cheerleading, act as the school's PANA liaison/nrg Balance advisor and serve as co-advisor for our school’s Student Government, amongst other extracurriculars. Outside of school, I am a mom to my awesome five-year-old son, Nicholas, so little league and soccer keep me busy outside of school.

I have a BA in Political Science and Pre-Law from Bloomsburg University and originally began career #1 in Child Protective Services and the courtroom. Career #2 led me to Dallas, TX and Minneapolis, MN for several years, where I was an IT consultant/recruiter (aka - headhunter for high-end software and internet developers). After the "dot.com" bubble burst and following 9-11-2001, my travels led me back to my hometown in northeast PA, at which time I completed Teacher Intern Certification coursework at Susquehanna University to embark upon career #3. I am currently pursuing my MSEd in Teaching for the 21st Century with an expected completion date of August, 2009.

This will be my seventh year in the classroom and despite the daily distractions in a high school classroom, I love to teach and I am finally home. The background I have in the technology field, combined with experience in working with troubled youth have lent themselves nicely to career #3 and 21st Century teaching and learning.

Away we go... and oh the lessons we are learning!

From a teacher's perspective, it is both an honor and a privilege to be involved in a project of this magnitude and scope. The teachers in this round of the Flat Classroom Project have met and thus far, it seems we all work well together. The introductions among students from varying places of the world have taken place. Students are beginning to get to know each other, although their partners are on the other side of the world. I would not have dreamed this ever being possible when I first bega… Continue

Hello Mrs. Nestico, I am in the same group as Kyle Higgins. Our research is about Google. I added Kyle around a week ago, but haven't gotten the confirmation back. If you could just point that out to him I'd be grateful. Thank you.
