The Correct Way to Hyperlink: Contextual Links

One of the main issues I see on the wiki currently is the way we are hyperlinking. Writing on the internet should be concise and meaningful, and hyperlinks should be CONTEXTUAL. Here are some examples

Wrong way Example #1
There was a news article that more wireless companies are providing chips to connect to the Internet at higher speeds. You can read the article here - http://www.yourcommunicationnews.com/newsContinue

Flat Classroom 2008 Schools Announced

We're so excited to share this announcement - we had so many schools apply and have done our best to get a good fit for the project AND find ways for every teacher who applied to be involved in some way. Unfortunately, we've had a few challenges reaching everyone who applied as some firewalls won't let us through. If you are one of those teachers who applied and you have not heard from us -- PLEASE check your spam folder -- we've been trying to reach you. Here is our official announcement.

When do I wiki and when do I ning?

We've had a great time of getting acquainted over the last few weeks and we are getting ready to charge ahead.

I've noticed that there are some asking when do we ning and when do we wiki.

We created the ning to see if we could help the process of getting connected. Last year, many of our spam filters and firewalls were "eating" our e-mails and it was frustrating to connect, so the teachers created this space to help you connect and communicate.

However, remember that it will b… Continue

Hi Ms. Davis. I have enjoyed working on this project with other people around the world. It has been a great opportunity to learn from other cultures and to learn new websites that can be useful to us in the future. Thank you for this experience.

Hello Mrs. Vicki,
My name is Erika (from springwoods high school) and I am grateful that I was able to participate in it. I am currently on the edge of my seat to find out whether or not I will be attending the Flatclassroom Conference, hopefully it will all work out.

Once again, thank you very much for giving Spring Woods High school the opportunity to participate in this wonderful project, if I had another chance to participate in the flatclassroom project I wouldn't pass it up, too bad I'm a senior now.

Great meeting today. Thanks so much for everything.

My students will be submitting their requests for their "outsourced" videos in the next week as well as trying to fulfill some other students requests.

Once again. Thanks, you're doing a great job with the project and we are happy to be a part of it!

Hi Vicki,
I signed up to be an expert (on the wiki) a few days ago but haven't heard back. Have you assigned experts to groups already? Need more? I'm game!
Cheers,
Suzie
