My experience so far on the project has been very interesting. I had a lot of fun making my audio introduction. I haven't found all of my partners on the Wiki yet, but I'm sure that will change. Our Wiki has many strenghts, more then weaknesses. It is very informative and intersting. To move on with the project I need to figure out my addition to the Wiki, and to do that I have to understand it better. I understand most of our Wiki, but some of it I'm still a little fuzzy on. I'm sure that will…

Globalization has not only affetced China but many other Asian coiuntries like India, Bangladesh. As I am from India I have noticed a huge change in India's economy and production in these last few years. So, when I talked about this with my parents who know India better than I do, they told me that this change has come after the Indian government let overseas compaies to enter Indian markets. Therefore, this development is the result of the opening of the markets. Because of this expantion…

My classes are part of the peer review process ("Sounding Board"). We will begin to post evaluations this week. You can click here for the feedback page that we will use. It was the easiest way we found to pool the feedback in one place. I will assign this Tuesday and you should see posts start forming that day.
I have about 80 students in Grades 9-12 in Connecticut, USA. This is a class in Web Design so you…

Welcome to Nina Bianchini, the CEO & Co-Founder of Ning. Gina has joined our Flat Classroom Project to see how we are using the Ning technology to facilitate our communication and also to see if there is any way she can help us further.
Just to let everyone know last week Ning made a decision to take the advertising off our network! This is great news for us as some of the advertisements were not appropriate. You can read more about the Flat Classroom issue with Google adsense on…

Living in Shanghai, China, a lot of what I take part in and what I see every day is a result of outsourcing. Shanghai, a city in which new projects and new buildings seem to spring up every week, is constantly being made bigger, taller, and more advanced because of globalization. Where I live, and especially downtown, you can’t go seven kilometers without hitting another Starbucks or Pizza Hut. Really becoming internationalized, Shanghai is becoming a focal financial and business hub. Even the…

After creating the video and working on wiki. I should move ahead to send videos to people over the world and also be able to create a net work on my own by using the skills I learned from creating my first video and editing on wiki spaces

I am going to make a 3 part video about the changing shape of information.
Part 1 will show the old kids game where you pass a message around a circle by whispering and see how the message changes.
Transistion to part 2 will be the kids moving out of the circle with
one taking a cell phone, one a video camera, one a computer, and one a
palm. The kids will go to get information.
Part three will be showing a kid who has recieved all the information remixing it on…

For my video, I plan on outlining the use of social networks/learning networks that people use at various stages of their lives. I am going to interview people from different age groups at my school and see how they use social networks.
For younger kids: webkinz.com and clubpenguin.com, used for fun.
For a teacher: ning.com, used as a learning tool for the students.
For a student: twitter.com, used as a microblog site.
For someone interested in sports:…

I am planning on making a video involving Google and Yahoo. I am working with mrodzilla8 and we are taking the apple vs pc commercial idea. We are going to make Google as the apple and yahoo as the pc.
These are the (possible) things the two sides will argue over:social network (yahoo messenger....mail for both)
search engine (yahoo answers, google does not have anything specific)
photo services (flicker and pacaso)
Google has an open API, Yahoo doesn't
Google or…

For our Design & Innovation Video, the plan is to have Weblings narrate various screenshots and pictures of Virtual Communication websites and programs. We will discuss Skype, AIM (instant messaging), and Soulseek.
What we need from you guys is a clip describing and/or following how you use a social networking site; how you set up a profile, how it looks, what matters to you in terms of function and design.
Thanks,
Cindy
