I am reading a lot of interesting and thoughtful, not to mention informative, introductions on the Ning. Here are some extra ideas if you need to get started or want to add something else.
Use these questions as a guide to record your short audio introduction to put on the Ning.
* Explain who you are, where you live and what school you go to
* Tell a little about what life is like where you live
* Tell a little about what you do at school, for a hobby etc
* Share your ideas for the project:

Hello everyone and welcome to our Flat Classroom Ning and also to our Flat Classroom Project 2008.
If you are new to the project you may be wondering why we use the 'Ning'.
Vicki and I like to call this 'educational networking' rather than the term 'social networking'. We expect all students to learn how to behave and use the ning to interact, blog, discuss and share with others from the project.
The Ning is where we connect. It is where we blog and discuss things. This is the first thing to jo…

Welcome to Nina Bianchini, the CEO & Co-Founder of Ning. Gina has joined our Flat Classroom Project to see how we are using the Ning technology to facilitate our communication and also to see if there is any way she can help us further.
Just to let everyone know last week Ning made a decision to take the advertising off our network! This is great news for us as some of the advertisements were not appropriate. You can read more about the Flat Classroom issue with Google adsense on my…

As of this morning we now have 113 members of the Flat Classroom Ning. This is fantastic! Over the next week ALL participating students should have found their way to the Ning and set up a profile, communicated with their partners (and others!) and posted an audio introduction. Some students and schools are also posting some video material to introduce themselves. This is a great way to get to know each other and to see the local environment of participants.
One of the problems with the…

Connect
Your mission is to connect with your team members and the other educators involved in this project.
Connections will take place asynchronously as well as synchronously.
Some of your partners will be on the exact opposite side of the world
so real-time connections will be a challenge. However you must make the
effort to connect. That first contact and then follow-up messages are
so important for reassuring your partners that you are there are
willing to work.…
