We've had a great time of getting acquainted over the last few weeks and we are getting ready to charge ahead. I've noticed that there are some asking when do we ning and when do we wiki.
We created the ning to see if we could help the process of getting connected. Last year, many of our spam filters and firewalls were "eating" our e-mails and it was frustrating to connect, so the teachers created this space to help you connect and communicate.
However, remember that it will be easier if all of the discussion about your TOPIC go on the discussion tab of the topic page on the wiki. It will just be more useful to all of you.
You should have an rss reader (here we use NetVibes and then add the edits for your page, the discussions for your page and the instructions page of the wiki.
Then, when you come to class you should always check the instructions as well as any verbal instructions from your teacher.
And remember the importance of an effective digital "handshake" in the beginning (like where we are now), you should reply when someone comments on your page that is in your group so that they know you are there and committed to be an active participant.
Most of you are sitting back and wondering if the others are really there! Yes, there are more than 100 of you on this project but with different holidays and such it is so important to use all of your classtime to work on the project.
We've updated information on the wiki about the wiki editing as well as the movie. Take a look! And remember that any teacher can help you. We all will be roaming throughout the wiki.
We've also recruited some amazing experts to help you. If you see someone who can help you, feel free to ask them a question or see if they know.
Best wishes. This is going to be a great experience. Let me know how I can help!
