1) My topic is about the internet, or any other type of technology, and how it is used to connect everyone globally. It is also about how the internet has evolved into a means of interaction allowing people to collaborate in new ways. Almost everyone all over the world can get connected with the click of a button. I found it very interesting that people all over the world can receive each others thoughts within a matter of minutes. It is unbelievable to think, that at one point computers did not even exist and now look how far we’ve come. It is also quite amazing to think that event though we have come so far, people are always thinking of ways to improve things. I appreciate all of this high-tech equipment, for it makes my life, as student, much easier. But, alas, people are still amazing each other by using
Oovoo and other means of communication, such as
AIM,
Facebook, and
Gmail.
2) Considering that my Wiki team is spread all over the world, I think our page came out quite nicely. I believe that I had a very motivated team. Everything was done on time and the Wiki looks very professional. I would like to say that I was probably the weakness of my team. It took me a very long time to realize that I was trying to edit the wrong page. By the time I got there, the page was finished and looked like a professional page. My group did a fantastic job remembering to cite their sources. I am very happy with the outcome of the Wiki; however I wish that I could’ve had more input in the making of the Wiki. I suppose in the future, I will be better prepared, but all in all, it was a learning experience.
3a) I did not create an outsourced video for anybody because I had no type of recording device. If someone had asked me to make a video, I would have borrowed someone’s camera. I did, however, understand what I was supposed to do, if I had a way of recording a video. I would have just made a video of what they asked for. I would hope that if I made a video it would have made it to the final video.
3b) I requested a video for someone to say what schools we be like in the future. I needed it to be about technology affecting schools in the future. I received my video from
http://flatclassroomproject.ning.com/profile/SeunKuK and
http://flatclassroomproject.ning.com/profile/JulianH. I used both of the videos I received in my final video. They were exactly what I needed.
4) My initial idea for my video was to talk about how technology in the future will connect everyone around the globe. Along the way, my idea did not change one bit. It hit all the key points that needed to be in the video and it was a topic that I understood. I think the quality of my video was good. This is the first video I have ever made so I believe that it was fairly decent. I suppose in the future my videos will progress. I think I could have done a lot to improve it. There could’ve been more color and made it a little more technological, but I did not know how to do that. I think the music and the words went well together though. I am very proud of my video, and think everything worked out the better than I imagined. Here is a
http://flatclassroomproject.ning.com/video/connecting-the-world-onl.... that I believe deserves recognition, because it is very creative, and keeps the audience captivated for the entire 2:41.
