Building bridges for the future through collaborative projects
Introduction
Hey everyone. My name is Kate Vukasinovic and I'm a year 11 student at The Illawarra Grammar School (TIGS), Australia. The area I live in is situated below the central east coast of Australia, in a town called Wollongong. Wollongong is an hour drive away from Sydney and is quite a big city in comparison with some of the surrounding towns.
Bit about myself, I've been in three high schools. One called Holy Spirit College, in Bellambi, Wollongong from grade 7-10. Just last year, I spent a year in Japan, where I lived in a town called Okazaki. The school I had attended was an all girls school called, Hikarigaoka Girls High School, there I learnt Japanese and made some really awesome friends. Now I'm in year 11 at The Illawarra Grammar School where I'm learning information and process technology, which is the reason I'm doing this project. The Illawarra Grammar School has been around for 50 years as an independent, Anglican school, encouraging students to perform and grow to the best of their ability. Grades start from kinder garden and goes all the way up to Year 12. TIGS is rich in school culture and community and are the main reasons my parents suggested for me to attend.
Despite TIGS being a great school, my main reason for studying at TIGS was because of their Japanese continuers - HSC (High School Certificate) course. I have a big interest in languages and foreign cultures, which later on in my life I want to do something related to going abroad. Beside my love for languages, I also love listening to some good music in my free time and hanging out with my friends.
This is my first ning account and online collaborative project. I'm looking forward to working with everyone and getting a better understanding on the topic and Web 2.0 systems.
