My topic on the World Wide Web was Government, Politics, and Employment. During the course of researching these topics, I learned that government and politics is a very popular issue on the WWW. Before this, I never really realized that there were so many different websites that gave current information on what was going in the government, such as GovTech and the New York Times. For employment, I already knew that there were many websites that helped unemployed people look for jobs. With the use of advertisements on T.V, employment websites such as Monster and Career Builder, are getting more and more popular by the day. Also, an interesting thing I learned from this topic is how much Obama and other political leaders use the World Wide Web to promote their campaigns. With the use of the Internet, they are able to express their ideas in videos and share them on websites. Other than this, all the information was pretty simple and easy to comprehend.
During the course of this project, I was not really able to contact the other people in my wiki team, so I ended up doing all the work. I was lucky enough to have gotten an easy enough topic to write about, so it did not take me that much of time to gather all the information and put them on the wiki. However, if the other people in my team wiki had contributed some more information, then it would have been much better. I feel that there should have been more information written, but overall, it has the basic content needed for the topics.
For the outsourced videos, I created two outsourced videos: one for Ionut Mihuleac from Grup Scolar Agricol Holboca and the other for Alex S. from AAHS. I clearly understood both of their requests and had no trouble in making the videos for them. However, Ionut did not contact me when I posted the video for her and do not know if she put it in her final video. I tried to go and find her on the Ning, but she was not there. On the other hand, Alex successfully put my video in her final video. Here is the link to her video: Alex S. Final Video
For my outsourced video request, I wanted a short clip of a recent government article. Alex S. created this video and I successfully received it. It was not hard for me to put the clip in my final video. During my video, I had a spot where I talked about government issues. Here, I put the outsourced video.
My initial idea for the final video was the same throughout the course of making it. I created a narrative about a boy who had to do a really long research paper in two days without the help of the Internet. After that, I showed how faster and easier it is to use the Internet rather than books. I then ended with a voice-over about some more general facts on the World Wide Web. The audio and the video quality were pretty good. I had to retake the short narrative clips over and over again to make sure you could hear it perfectly, but, at the end, it turned out perfect. However, one thing I could have added to make it a better movie is some more pictures towards the end when there was the voice-over and music playing. Lastly, I would like to point out Lacey M.'s Final Video. This video obviously took a lot of time and effort to make. The voice-overs were good and it was a very creative idea to incorporate Harry Potter into the video.
