I enjoyed looking at your website and blog. We also recently studied the Iditarod...small world :).
Your school sound unique. I'm sure it's a wonderful place to teach. I also teach in a fantastic environment, but with far less diversity. All of my students speak English as a first language. They are, however, well traveled. I would love for them to be able to learn about a different culture, and have the experience of connecting with students around the world.
Our curriculum's look to be very similar. I spent some time teaching in Wales, and the overall philosophies of education are very compatible.
The time certainly poses a problem. As I look at the time differences, I see that it is 11:30 am by you, and it's 10:30 pm by me. Impossible? I hope not.
I am also a fourth grade teacher...looking to broaden my students' perspective. I teach in the suburbs of Chicago, and would love to get a "look into" a classroom in China.
Do you have Skype...I think it would be a wonderful experience to have our students meet, and perhaps discuss certain topics through skype (the visual will be so impt.). You interested?
